Tulum, Mexico was absolutely life-changing, however trying to describe why in words wouldn’t do it justice and I also wouldn’t want to take away from the magical, sacred experience that I shared with my 20+ other fellow Tulumies. You’ll never bond as closely with people as you do on a yoga retreat and you’ll never have the kind of epiphanies that you do when practicing yoga in that kind of beautiful and peaceful setting. I can’t imagine yoga ever getting better than watching the sunrise over a quiet stretch of beach with crystal clear water, pure white sand and a strong ocean breeze with waves breaking so loud that it drowns out any possible worry that you could have in the world. If you want to know what serenity feels like, then go to Amansala (Conde Nast Traveler’s #1 Yoga Retreat, 2014).I promise you won’t regret it. There’s a reason Radiant Hot Yoga put together a second yoga retreat back so soon after the first one. I’m already daydreaming about the next time I’ll get to go back too… To my fellow Tulumies, these lyrics seem to sum up our trip pretty well. ? Looking forward to our reunion in a couple of weeks!! “And we danced, and we cried, and we laughed and had a really, really, really good time.Take my hand, let’s have a blast and remember this moment for the rest of our lives.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I made the decision to sign up for the retreat, I wasn’t sure if I would know anyone who was going? Would I be the only male on the trip? Are there gonna be showers? What exactly is Eco-chic? But I knew it was going to be a once in a lifetime experience that I didn’t want to miss. I was partially looking forward to “disconnecting” on the retreat but what happened was I was able to “connect” with so many amazing people and share this spiritual adventure. My feet felt so grounded while I was in Tulum and luckily I have been able to bring that special experience back home with me and I am signed up and looking forward to driving to the airport August 15th for the next retreat! Today I feel more alive than ever and I am so thankful for the radiant family and the lil push for me to get involved with this retreat!?

The retreat with Radiant Hot Yoga to Tulum, Mexico was an indescribable experience. I was in a state of peace, gratitude, hope, and awareness. My senses were heightened, my mind was awakened, and my soul was rejuvenated.Yoga twice a day, sun salutations with the sunrise, delicious meals, excursions, connections with myself and others, meditations, and the most softest sand I’ve ever felt… No words can express the call to action I found to live my life fully as a whole and complete human being.Truly a life altering experience. I am forever grateful. I am forever changed.

"I made the most amazing decision this year… I went to the yoga retreat in Tulum with Radiant, wonderful yogis. I'm from a very little town in Quebec province so for me, Newport Beach life was such a change. My family are all still in Quebec, and I was feeling really lonely here.I started doing yoga at Radiant 1 year ago and some how, I felt so good and connected there. All the teachers and yogis seem to have such a good hearts and wonderful souls. I decided to go on the yoga retreat to get to know some more of these amazing people (it was a challenge for me because I’m a little shy and isolated person). I felt so great during this amazing retreat. It made me go back down to earth and give me the opportunity to feel love from a new family!!!Last thing I can say its that you have to try to feel it!"

My experience on the retreat in Tulum was one for the books. The Amansala Resort was beautiful, our room just being steps away from the beach. The food was amazing, fresh, and surprisingly heathly! My favorite activities on the trip had to be between snorkeling in the Grand Cenote and walking through the ancient city of Chichén Itzá. I would go back again in a heartbeat.“

I was recently part of the wonderful Radiant Hot Yoga retreat, set in the town of Tulum, located in the tropical Yucatan Peninsula, surrounded by the pure blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico before us and the never-ending green jungle set behind us.Each day at the peaceful and restorative Amansala Resort was a gift: opening with yoga first thing in the morning, continuing with new-found insights as friendships were being made and strengthened, and finally ending in the evening with the knowledge that life is truly about the human connections we make.It was spiritual. It was humbling. It was amazing.”

Thank you for organizing a beautiful and restorative yoga retreat in Tulum!Ali and I had such an amazing and transformational experience. It was the perfect mother/daughter trip. There was so much tranquility found sitting on the beach admiring the clear blue water, pure white sand, and the calming sensation from the ocean breeze. We felt a shift within ourselves to total inner peace through your twice-daily yoga, Mayan Clay meditation, healthy meals, massages, and excursions. We appreciate your personal and genuine care given to each of us.Let’s not forget the spontaneous nighttime dancing. FUN!

There really aren’t adequate words to describe the Amansala Tulum retreat with fellow Radiant Hot Yoga yogis as the entire trip settles in a deep place within my heart where words are superfluous. But I shall try: It was a trip of friendship, discovery, opening barriers within ourselves, engaging in ancient Mayan traditions and ceremonies, site seeing, deep belly – sides aching laughter, yoga sunrises at the waters edge, yoga practices in the most incredible yoga room with the ocean as your backdrop, AMAZING food and drinks, and above all, for me, an overwhelming sense of carefree freedom and joy.At times my freedom was so great that if you had told me I was a free and unencumbered 7 year old, I would have believed you. Here I am in the photo below at Tulum with my fellow teachers (with my hair wildly blowing). It was a trip of a lifetime – because it changed my life…My deepest love to all that shared this journey with me. And may you all be so lucky to join RHY on their next retreat!

I actually had thought of every excuse in the book not to go! Money, time, long flight, don’t know anyone well enough to travel with, time off, etc…. It just took Yasi to say “Why not”. And so a life changing (or life altering) journey began with: new friends, new experiences, new culture, new foods, new places, time away, meditation, yoga, connecting with self, connecting with people. It was transformational. Especially because of all the reasons you come up with not to go. It just takes a decision to say yes and everything else falls into place. The only one holding you back is you.Do it! Step outside your comfort zone. Make new friends. Grow. That’s truly what this trip was about for me. And no better group of people to do it with than my new yogi family!

rich, bold, organic and patently magnificent

There is no typical guest as the the clientele on any given day range from honeymooners to multi-generational families, safari first-timers to game lodge veterans.

Marataba Safari Lodge is a simple extension of the natural environment beyond its walls. If you sit quietly for long enough, you can feel the energy of the countless people who have made this place home since The Stone Age.

Options to relax outside of your tent include a communal pool with loungers, hammocks amongst the trees and a library with plush brown leather sofas; alternatively, book an in-room spa treatment on your deck and zone out to sounds of the birds and the breeze. Amazing Experiences at Marataba Safari Lodge
Prepare to be dazzled, inspired, healed, and awakened for this retreat will touch every corner of your heart and soul. Immerse yourself in nature by staying at Marataba Safari Lodge located in Marakele National Park.

Marakele National Park

23,000 hectare of Waterberg mountains, vast plains, rich animal diversity and winding rivers

With Marataba based in Marakele National Park’s private 23,000-hectare concession only shared with a sister lodge, the guests’ common denominator is preference for exclusivity.

Just four hours from Johannesburg, this is a sanctuary where busy people can find themselves again by connecting with nature. We were rendered breathless by the dramatic Waterberg mountains, vast plains, rich animal diversity and winding rivers cutting through the landscape of the Marakele National Park.

Rich red mountain rock meets lush green plains (where you will find yellowwood and cedar trees, 5m high cycads and tree ferns). All of the large game species from elephant and rhino to the big cats, as well as an amazing variety of birds (including the largest colony of endangered Cape vultures in the world, with more than 800 breeding pairs) have settled here.

Safely Explore

THE WILDLIFE

This beautiful piece of Waterberg Wilderness combines some of the most dramatic scenery in South Africa with an abundant wildlife experience. The Marakele National Park holds a truly immense variety of mammals that are readily seen. The mountains are a safe haven to a number of interesting and unique plant, mammal and bird species, like: the Aardwolf, the Bat-Eared Fox, the Ground Pangolin, the Brown Hyena, and the Bird of Marakele: Gurneys Sugarbird, Cape Vulture, Half-collared Kingfisher, White-backed Night-Heron, Verraux’s Eagle-Owl, Mountain Wagtail, Ant-eating Chat.

Enjoy

Two Guided Safaris a Day

In the company of your Field Guide, you will learn more about the Big Five and the many unique animal species found on the Marakele National Park. 2 safaris a day (one early morning, and one late afternoon, into the evening) are each approximately 3-4 hours long, and include a scenic coffee and sundowner break to purely appreciate just being in the moment. Predators are accustomed to the vehicles at Marataba, and do not see them as a threat. This enables Guides to get into very close proximity with Africa’s most impressive animal species. Photographic opportunities are simply spectacular!

Cuisine &

Dining Experience

Our chefs are adept at crafting cuisine that will appeal to any palate, be that sweet tooth, vegetarian, health fan or meat lover. Only fresh seasonal ingredients are used, and prepared in the lodge kitchens every day. Three sumptuous meals per day, as well as a number of delectable treats, will ensure that no one goes hungry!

Relaxing and Revitalising Treatments

Spa & Wellness

Pamper yourself and indulge in a relaxing and revitalising treatment with our qualified therapist in the luxury and privacy of your Suite. Spend quiet time at the poolside, and soak in the restorative rays of the sun. A great form of exercise is one of our Walking Safaris. Each walk is tailored to suit the disposition and fitness level of the guest. One cannot help but feel alive in this magical place.
